Remove and Install the Heatsink Fan Assembly - Frame 6

Replace a heatsink fan assembly with kit catalog number SK-RM-HSFAN1-F6. Follow these steps to remove and install the heatsink fan assembly.
  1. Review the product advisories in Before You Begin.
  2. Remove power from the system.
  3. Remove the cover from the chassis. See Remove and Install the Frame 6 Cover.
  4. If installed, remove the conduit box. See

  5. TIP: The heatsink fan power wire harness is connected inside the chassis. You cannot remove the fan assembly until you disconnect the fan power wire harness.
  6. Loosen the four M4 captive screws that secure the fan assembly to the chassis and carefully pull the fan assembly away from the chassis, partially.
  7. Disconnect the fan power wire harness connector (A) from the connector inside the chassis and remove the fan assembly.

  8. Install the heatsink fan assembly in the reverse order of removal.
