Remove and Install the Torque Accuracy Module for Frames 8...15
Replace the torque accuracy module with the appropriate kit catalog number:
- 20-750-MTAM1-CD (400/480V)
- 20-750-MTAM1-EF (600/690V)
Follow these steps to remove and install the torque accuracy module.
- Review the product advisories in Before You Begin.
- Remove power from the system.
- Open the corresponding power bay enclosure door.
- Remove the right-most power module from the enclosure.
- IMPORTANT: The minimum inside bend radius for fiber-optic cable is 50 mm (2 in.). Any bends with a shorter inside radius can permanently damage the fiber-optic cable. Signal attenuation increases as inside bend radius is decreased.
- Without bending the cable to a radius less than 50 mm (2 in.), remove the fiber-optic cable from the transceiver in the TAM port on the torque accuracy module.
- Open the transceiver latch and pull the transceiver out of the connector on the board. You can retain the transceiver as a spare part.TIP: If the latch is obstructed and you cannot use your fingers to open it, use a small, screwdriver or other long, narrow tool to open the latch.
- Disconnect connector P1 from J1 on the torque accuracy module.
- Disconnect connector P2 from J2 on the torque accuracy module.
- Loosen the two upper M4 hex nuts and washers that secure the torque accuracy module panel to the mounting bracket.
- Remove the lower two M4 hex nuts and washers that secure the torque accuracy module panel to the mounting bracket and remove the module and panel.
- Remove the protective covers from connectors J1 and J2 on the new torque accuracy module.
- Install the torque accuracy module in the reverse order of removal.
- Remove the protective cover from the TAM port on the new torque accuracy module.
- IMPORTANT: The end of the transceiver that connects to the inside of the fiber port contains dielectric grease. Do not touch the end of the transceiver.
- Remove the protective covers from the transceiver.
- Without bending the cable to a radius less than 50 mm (2 in.), fully insert the fiber-optic cable into the transceiver.
- Insert the transceiver and fiber-optic cable into the port on the board, until you hear an audible ‘click.’
