Remove and Install the Power Interface Circuit Board for Frames 8...15
IMPORTANT:
The power interface circuit board contains data regarding the power modules predictive maintenance runtime history. Replacing the power interface circuit board will erase this data and is not recommended if predictive maintenance data is required for your application.
Replace the power module power interface circuit board with the kit catalog number for your power module rating that is identified in this table:
Power Module Normal Duty Rating | Cat. No. (for Power Modules with No Filtering) | Cat. No. (for Power Modules with Paralleling Inductor) | Cat. No. (for Power Modules with Reflected Wave Filter) |

Two versions of the circuit board tray are released. Each version of the tray uses different screw sizes to secure the power interface circuit board to the tray. Circuit board trays and screw combinations for the power interface board include:
- Part number PN-371633 contains five M4 x 10 mm slotted-Torx screws
- Part number PN-417691 contains five M4 x 18 mm slotted-Torx screws
Follow these steps to remove and install the power interface circuit board.
- Review the product advisories in Before You Begin.
- Remove power from the system.
- Open the corresponding enclosure door.
- Remove the power module from the enclosure.
- Remove the circuit board tray from the power module.
- Remove the power layer interface circuit board.
- ATTENTION:Risk of equipment damage exists.Equipment damage can occur if the PE-B1 jumper is installed in the connected (IN) position for these applications:
- The power module is used as a regenerative front-end converter. Do not install the PE-B1 jumper in the connected (IN) position for this application.
- The power module is used as a common bus inverter with a regenerative front-end converter. Do not install the PE-B1 jumper in the connected (IN) position for this application.
The PE-B1 jumper can be installed in the connected (IN) position when the power module is used as a common bus inverter with a non-regenerative front-end converter. - Record the position of the PE-B1 jumper on the power interface circuit board in the power module. The PE-B1 jumper on the new power module must be installed in the same position.
- ItemDescriptionAJ5 - PE-B1 jumper in the "IN" positionBJ6 - PE-B1 jumper in the "OUT" positionIMPORTANT: The protective cover shown in the illustration is not present on all existing power modules. If present, the protective cover must remain installed in the unused jumper connector J5 or J6.
- Remove the seven M4 x 10 mm or M4 x 18 mm Torx screws that secure the power interface circuit board to the circuit board tray and remove the circuit board by lifting the board up and off the supports on the tray. Retain the screws for reuse.
- IMPORTANT: The power interface circuit board replacement kit excludes screws. Therefore, all existing screws for this board must be reused. Verify the screw size that is supplied with your circuit board tray and apply the recommended torque during reinstallation.IMPORTANT: Do not remove the protective cover from the unused jumper connector J5 or J6 on the power interface circuit board.
- Install the power interface circuit board in the reverse order of removal.
