Remove and Install the Power Layer Interface Circuit Board for Frame 7

Replace a power layer interface circuit board with kit catalog number SK-RM-PLI1-F8. Follow these steps to remove and install the power layer interface circuit board.
  1. Review the product advisories in Before You Begin.
  2. Remove power from the system.
  3. Open the enclosure door.
  4. Remove the protective guard. See Remove and Install the Protective Guard for Frame 7.
  5. Remove the power module from the enclosure. See Remove and Install a Power Module for Frame 7.
  6. Remove the two M5 x 12 mm Torx screws (A) that secure the I/O connections plate to the top of the power module chassis and remove the panel.
  7. Remove the three M5 x 12 mm Torx screws (B) that secure the bus bar support to the right, top side of the power module chassis.
  8. Remove the 13 M5 x 10 mm Torx screws (C) that secure the right side cover to the power module and remove the cover.

  9. Disconnect the cable connector P13 from connector J13 on the power layer interface circuit board.

  10. IMPORTANT: Retain the fiber-optic transceivers installed on the power layer interface circuit board for reuse.
  11. Remove the five M4 x 18 mm Torx screws that secure the power layer interface circuit board to the power interface circuit board and remove the board.

  12. Install the power layer interface board in the reverse order of removal.
  13. IMPORTANT: If present, do not remove the protective cover from the PDI fiber-optic port on the power layer interface circuit board unless used at the time of installation.
  14. Remove the protective cover from connector J13 on the new power layer interface circuit board.
  15. Connect the wire harness connector P13 to connector J13 on the power layer interface circuit board.
