Remove and Install the Current Sense Circuit Board for Frame 7
Replace a current sense circuit board with kit catalog number SK-RM-CSB-F7. Follow these steps to remove and install the current sense circuit board.
- Review the product advisories in Before You Begin.
- Remove power from the system.
- Open the enclosure door.
- Remove the protective guard. See Remove and Install the Protective Guard for Frame 7.
- Remove the LCL filter module from the enclosure.
- Remove the two M5 x 12 mm Torx screws that secure the J1 and J2 connector mounting plate to the protective cover on the back of the LCL filter module.
- TIP: The 24V DC control power wire harness is routed through a grommet in the protective cover. You cannot remove the cover until the wire harness is pulled through the back side of the grommet.
- Remove the eight M5 x 12 mm Torx screws that secure the protective cover to the LCL filter module chassis and remove the cover partially from the module.
- To release the protective cover from the module fully, route the 24V DC control power supply wire harness (A) and connector P3 through the grommet on the cover.
- IMPORTANT: The minimum inside bend radius for fiber-optic cable is 50 mm (2 in.). Any bends with a shorter inside radius can permanently damage the fiber-optic cable. Signal attenuation increases as inside bend radius is decreased.
- Without bending the cable to a radius less than 50 mm (2 in.), remove the fiber-optic cable from the transceiver in the LCL port on the current sense circuit board.
- Disconnect these connectors from the current sense circuit board:
- P1 from J1
- P4 from J4
- P5 from J5
- P6 from J6
- P8 from J8
- P13 from J13
- P14 from J14 (this connector must be reused to maintain the rating of the LCL filter module)
- Remove the five M4 x 12 mm Torx screws that secure the current sense circuit board to the chassis and remove the board.
- Install the current sense circuit board in the reverse order of removal.
- TIP: This illustration represents a fiber-optic transceiver port on an example circuit board only.
- Remove the protective cover from the LCL port on the new current sense circuit board.
- Remove the new transceiver supplied with the kit from the packing materials.
- IMPORTANT: The end of the transceiver that connects to the inside of the fiber port contains dielectric grease. Do not touch the end of the transceiver.
- Remove the protective covers from the transceiver.
- Without bending the cable to a radius less than 50 mm (2 in.), fully insert the fiber-optic cable into the transceiver.
- Insert the transceiver and fiber-optic cable into the port on the board, until you hear an audible ‘click.’
