Remove and Install the AC Precharge Control Circuit Board for Frames 7
Replace the AC precharge control circuit board with kit catalog numbers 20-750-MACPC1-CD-F7M and 20-750-MACPC1-EF-F7M. Follow these steps to remove and replace the AC precharge control circuit board.
- Review the product advisories in Before You Begin.
- Remove power from the system.
- Open the enclosure door.
- Remove the protective guard. See Remove and Install the Protective Guard for Frame 7.
- TIP: The AC precharge control circuit board is located behind the control pod.
- Loosen the M5.5 x 13 mm Torx screw that secures the control pod assembly to the chassis.
- Loosen the two M5 captive screws that secure the bottom of the control pod assembly to the side panel and rotate the control pod assembly out from the enclosure.
- IMPORTANT: The minimum inside bend radius for fiber-optic cable is 50 mm (2 in.). Any bends with a shorter inside radius can permanently damage the fiber-optic cable. Signal attenuation increases as inside bend radius is decreased.
- Without bending the cable to a radius less than 50 mm (2 in.), remove the fiber-optic cable from the transceiver in the ACP port on the AC precharge control circuit board.
- Remove the transceiver from the ACP port and discard the transceiver.
- Disconnect these wire harness connectors from the connectors on the AC precharge circuit board:
- P1 from J1
- P2 from J2
- P3 from J3
- P4 from J4
- P5 from J5
- P6 from J6
- P7 from J7
- P11 from J11
- P12 from J12, if present
- Record the position of the PE-A jumper on the circuit board. The PE-A jumper on the new AC precharge control circuit board must be installed in the same position.

- Remove the 10, M4 x 16 mm slotted-Torx screws that secure the circuit board to the standoffs on the sheet metal panel, and remove the board.
- Install the AC precharge control circuit board in the reverse order of removal.
- TIP: This illustration represents a fiber-optic transceiver port on an example circuit board only.
- Remove the protective cover from the ACP port on the new AC precharge circuit board.
- Remove the new transceiver supplied with the kit from the packing materials.
- IMPORTANT: The end of the transceiver that connects to the inside of the fiber port contains dielectric grease. Do not touch the end of the transceiver.
- Remove the protective covers from the transceiver.
- Without bending the cable to a radius less than 50 mm (2 in.), fully insert the fiber-optic cable into the transceiver.
- Insert the transceiver and fiber-optic cable into the port on the board, until you hear an audible ‘click.’
