What happens when I deploy a FactoryTalk Optix Application to an Optix Panel that already has an application deployed?
The OptixPanel can have only one FactoryTalk Optix Application at a time. If you have deployed ProjectA and want to deploy ProjectB, the system will replace ProjectA with ProjectB.
If you have deployed ProjectA and want to update the project, the system will ask whether you want to update the project, which does not cause a loss of internal data, or whether you want to replace the project, which erases all internal data.
TIP: FactoryTalk Optix Studio treats projects with different names as separate projects. If you deploy ProjectA and then attempt to deploy ProjectA_updated, ProjectA will be replaced.
Is it possible to deploy a FactoryTalk Optix Application in a manner that protects intellectual property?
Yes, you can deploy a FactoryTalk Optix Application in a secure manner. See Project encryption on a target device.
