Course Purpose

This instructor-led course provides you with the skills to create and run local and network distributed FactoryTalk® View SE applications. You will also learn how to configure redundancy for use if a server fails.

During this course, you will be able to practice the following hands-on skills:

  • Create, configure, and animate graphic objects on graphic displays
  • View data and interact with graphic displays at runtime
  • Create data logs for collecting and storing tag values
  • Create trends for displaying historical and real-time data
  • Create and configure messages and alarms for alerting operators to changes in a process
  • Configure security for granting/restricting access to certain graphic displays or for rights to perform certain actions

Who Should Attend

Individuals who need to create FactoryTalk View SE local and network distributed applications should attend this course.

Prerequisites

To successfully complete this course, the following prerequisites are required:

  • Completion of the Studio 5000 Logix Designer Level 1: ControlLogix System Fundamentals course (CCP146), or
  • Basic experience with ControlLogix® tags and architecture.

Technology Requirements

All technology is provided for student use in the classroom by Rockwell Automation. It is not necessary for students to bring any technology with them when attending this course.

    • Includes the key concepts, definitions, examples, and activities presented in this course.

  • Create Derived Tags and Event Files in a FactoryTalk View SE Application
  • Create Macros, Key Assignments, and Symbols in a FactoryTalk View SE Application

Day 4

  • Configure FactoryTalk Alarms and Events in a FactoryTalk View SE Application
  • Configure Security in a FactoryTalk View SE Application
  • Create a FactoryTalk View SE Network Distributed Application

Day 5

  • Configure Redundancy in a FactoryTalk View SE Application
