Subdevices

Subdevices may consist of devices such as PLCs, drives, iPCs, and similar, that are connected to a subnetwork and operate in conjunction with a remote device such as a Runtime, a router, or an HMI.

You can add one or more subdevices for each remote device through the

Domain view

section in

FactoryTalk® Remote Access™

Manager

, and set any services for each subdevice. In this way, you can directly connect to the subdevice services without having to establish a VPN connection with the remote device first. When a connection establishes, an application opens based on the subdevice IP address.
