Copy a project to a different organization

This feature allows you to copy a project to another organization to which you have access.
NOTE: To send a copy of a project, you must have be a member of both the source and the target organizations. You must have an
Engineer
role in the source organization. You can have any role in the target organization. Both source and target organizations must have an active entitlement. You must also have access to FactoryTalk Design Studio in the target organization where you want to send the project copy.
To copy a project to a different organization:
  1. Open the project you want to copy.
  2. In File select
    Send a copy
    . The
    Send copy to another organization
    dialog appears.
  3. In the
    Organization Name
drop-down list select the organization to which you want to send the copy. Only organizations with an active FactoryTalk Design Studio entitlement can be selected.
  4. Enter a name for the copy in the
    Name
    section.
  5. Check the
    Keep project history
checkbox if you want to keep a list of the history of the copies.
  6. Select
    Copy
. A status bar indicates the copy progress, which can take several minutes to complete.
An email is sent to the all administrators of the source tenant, letting them know that a project has been copied out of their organization. Another email goes to the user who initiated the project transfer, letting them know that the copy to another organization was successful. If a copy fails, an email
only
goes to the user who initiated the copy to let them know the copy was unsuccessful.
